Orewa College started as a District High School in 1956 with a roll of 101. It translated to a secondary school in 1974, and a Year 7 – 13 school in 2005. The roll now exceeds 1900 resident students, as well as a strong international student group. A reunion for the 50th year of the school occurred in 2006 and well planned development continues to enhance the school.
